With emoji or other characters outside GSM-7 the limits are 70 and 67 characters. Æ, ø and å are ordinary characters. A message can be up to 1,071 characters.

Worked examples
How the sums work out
Four common cases.
- A long SMSA message of 161 characters becomes 2 SMS units and costs NOK 1.50.
- An SMS with an emojiWith an emoji, one unit holds 70 characters. A message of 71 characters becomes 2 units and costs NOK 1.50.
- A recorded callAn outbound call of 2 min 10 s with recording and transcription is 3 started minutes at NOK 0.92. It costs NOK 2.76.
- A top-upIf you top up NOK 500, your card pays NOK 625. NOK 500 goes to your balance and NOK 125 is VAT.
Questions about pricing
Are prices with or without VAT?
- All prices exclude VAT. When you top up by card, you pay the amount plus 25% VAT. Your balance shows the amount excluding VAT.
Does the balance expire?
- No. What you top up stays on your balance until you use it.
What can I do on the Start plan?
- You pay NOK 50 plus VAT once and get NOK 50 of credit. That covers 66 SMS units, or can be used for email, letters within Norway, text to speech and transcription. Letters require verification. Telephony requires verification and a number that costs more than the credit. Once the credit is used up, you cannot top up until you move to the Business plan.
How do I move to the Business plan?
- You can upgrade at any time on the balance page, and choose a monthly or a yearly base fee. The first base fee is drawn from your first top-up after the upgrade, so that top-up must cover it. Any credit you have left stays.
How do I pay?
- By card. You top up your balance, and everything you use is drawn from it, the base fee included. The smallest top-up is NOK 500. With automatic top-up we charge your card the amount you chose when the balance runs low.
What happens when the balance is empty?
- The balance cannot go below zero. When it is empty, nothing is sent until you top up. You get an email and an SMS when the balance falls below NOK 500 and NOK 100. If the base fee cannot be drawn, the account is paused until you top up.
How many SMS units is a long message?
- One SMS unit holds 160 characters. A longer message is split into parts of 153 characters, and you pay per part. Æ, ø and å count as ordinary characters. An emoji or another character outside GSM-7 changes the limits to 70 and 67 characters. Count characters in the SMS segment calculator
What does «per started minute» mean?
- Every minute a call has begun counts as a whole minute. A call of 61 seconds is 2 started minutes.
