Price every service and the base feeHow the price is worked out
The text is counted first: encoding, characters and SMS units. The units are then multiplied by the recipients and the price of NOK 0.75 per unit. Replies you receive cost NOK 0.75 per unit.
Prices exclude VAT. When you top up your balance by card, 25% VAT is added. On Business the base fee of NOK 199 per month comes on top, and it is not included here.
What makes a message cost more
Length. One SMS unit holds 160 characters. A longer message is split into parts of 153 characters, and each part costs one unit.
Characters. One emoji or one curly quote sends the whole message as UCS-2. One unit then holds only 70 characters, and a message can cost twice as much. Æ, ø and å are ordinary characters and cost nothing extra.

Why does the message cost more when I add an emoji?
- An emoji is not part of GSM-7, so the whole message is sent as UCS-2. One unit then holds 70 characters instead of 160. Try it in the SMS segment calculator
Does the price include VAT?
- No, prices exclude VAT. The total with 25% VAT is shown below it.
What does a reply cost?
- NOK 0.75 per SMS unit. The calculator counts each reply as one unit.
What is not in the total?
